Some history on Ottoman period JEWELRY

Ottoman period started in the 13th century. the expansion of this empire lasted through the 16th century. Through the years jewelry styles had gotten bigger and flasher.

It made a rich peak in the 16th century. Emperor's had fine jewelers making these wonderful pieces using gold, silver and bronze and precious gems, worn by the sultan and the ladies of the harem.. aigreettes (was a simple a floral or drop to worn upon the head) and even on their horses and shown the sign of wealth. these pieces were bought for investment using crystal, turquoise pearl and mother of pearl to ivory and gemstones. emerald is the stone of the goddess Venus. Ruby is thought to be the most powerful gem associated with many astral signs and a ring

should be worn on the left hand to bring peaceful sleeps well & chase away bad dreams and vitality .and peace. Symbolizes royalty, friendship and when given as a gift meaning of love.
